- 1 pound elbow macaroni
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 4 cups milk
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup cooked turkey bacon, chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large pot, cook the elbow macaroni according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In the same pot, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute.
- Gradually whisk in milk, stirring constantly until the sauce thickens, about 5-7 minutes.
- Add garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper to the sauce.
- Stir in cheddar and mozzarella cheese until melted.
- Add cooked macaroni and turkey bacon to the cheese sauce, mixing well.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish and sprinkle breadcrumbs on top.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
Notes
- For added flavor, you can mix in some cooked vegetables.
- Feel free to substitute the cheeses based on your preference.
