- 4 slices of crusty bread
- 2 cups fresh mozzarella, sliced
- 2 cups fresh basil leaves
- 3 ripe tomatoes, sliced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon balsamic vinegar
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Place the slices of bread on a baking sheet.
- Drizzle them with olive oil and toast in the oven for about 5-7 minutes.
- Remove the toasted bread and layer the mozzarella, tomatoes, and basil on top.
- Drizzle with balsamic vinegar and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
- Return to the oven for another 5 minutes, until the cheese is slightly melted.
- Serve warm.
Notes
- For added flavor, try adding a pinch of garlic powder to the olive oil.
- These toasts can be served as an appetizer or a light lunch.
