Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with buttermilk.
  5. Fold in the coconut and pecans.
  6. Pour the batter into prepared cake pans and bake for 30-35 minutes.
  7. Let cool and frost as desired.
