Ingredients

  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 cup caramel sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a sheet pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a saucepan, melt butter and water together, then bring to a boil. Pour over the dry ingredients.
  4. Add buttermilk, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.
  5. Fold in chocolate chips and pecans before pouring the batter into the sheet pan.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Once cooled, drizzle with caramel sauce.

Notes
