- 3 pounds beef chuck roast
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup beef broth
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 onion, sliced
- 3 carrots, chopped
- 3 potatoes, chopped
Instructions
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat.
- Season the beef chuck roast with salt and pepper, then sear it in the skillet until browned on all sides.
- Transfer the roast to the crockpot.
- Add minced garlic, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, onion, carrots, and potatoes to the crockpot.
- Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or until the meat is tender.
- Shred the beef with two forks and stir it back into the gravy before serving.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add fresh herbs like thyme or rosemary.
- This recipe can easily be doubled for larger gatherings.
