- 8 slices rye bread
- 1 pound turkey bacon
- 1 cup sauerkraut, drained
- 1 cup Swiss cheese, shredded
- 1/2 cup thousand island dressing
- 2 tablespoons butter
Instructions
- Cook the turkey bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy.
- Spread butter on one side of each slice of rye bread.
- On the unbuttered side of four slices, layer turkey bacon, sauerkraut, Swiss cheese, and thousand island dressing.
- Top with the remaining bread slices, buttered side out.
- Grill the sandwiches in the skillet until golden brown on both sides and cheese is melted.
- Slice and serve hot.
Notes
- For extra flavor, use homemade thousand island dressing.
- Pair with a side of chips or pickles.
