- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla bean paste
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with liners.
- In a bowl, beat the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in vanilla bean paste and salt.
- Gradually mix in the flour until just combined.
- Spoon the batter into the prepared cupcake liners filling each about 2/3 full.
- In another bowl, beat the cream cheese and heavy cream until smooth.
- Add brown sugar and mix until well combined.
- Top each cupcake with a dollop of the cream cheese mixture.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let cool completely, then sprinkle with granulated sugar.
- Using a kitchen torch, caramelize the sugar until golden.

- Cool the cupcakes thoroughly before caramelizing the sugar topping.
