- 2 cups sweet bell peppers, chopped
- 1 cup onions, finely chopped
- 1 cup vinegar
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1 teaspoon turmeric
- 1 teaspoon celery seed
- 1 teaspoon mustard seed
Instructions
- Begin by preparing the sweet bell peppers and onions. Chop them finely and set aside.
- In a large pot, combine vinegar, sugar, salt, and spices. Bring the mixture to a boil.
- Add the chopped peppers and onions to the pot. Stir well and return to a boil.
- Reduce heat and let simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Once done, pour the relish into sterilized jars and seal immediately.
- Allow to cool at room temperature, then refrigerate or store in a cool place.
Notes
- For a mild relish, use fewer sweet peppers.
- Great on sandwiches or as a condiment for meats.
