- 4 slices of turkey bacon
- 4 beef rouladen
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons mustard
- 1 large pickle, sliced
- 2 cups beef broth
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon paprika
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Lay out the beef rouladen and spread mustard on one side.
- Place a slice of turkey bacon, some chopped onion, and a few pickle slices on each roulade.
- Roll up the beef tightly and secure with toothpicks or kitchen twine.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat, then brown the rouladen on all sides.
- Transfer the browned rouladen to a baking dish.
- Pour beef broth over the rouladen and season with salt, pepper, and paprika.
- Cover the dish and bake in the preheated oven for about 1.5 hours.
- Remove from oven, let rest for a few minutes, and serve hot.
Notes
- For an extra flavor, marinate the rouladen overnight.
- Serve with mashed potatoes or red cabbage for a traditional pairing.
