- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 pound ground turkey bacon
- 1 onion diced
- 4 cloves garlic minced
- 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 pound pasta
- 2 cups béchamel sauce
- 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil and sauté the diced onion and minced garlic until golden.
- Add the ground turkey bacon and cook until browned.
- Stir in the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, cinnamon, oregano, salt, and black pepper, and let it simmer for 20 minutes.
- Cook the pasta according to package instructions, then drain and set aside.
- In a baking dish, layer half of the pasta, followed by the meat sauce, then the rest of the pasta.
- Spread the béchamel sauce on top and sprinkle with grated parmesan cheese.
- Bake for 30 to 40 minutes or until golden and bubbly.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, let the meat sauce simmer longer.
- You can substitute ground beef for turkey bacon if preferred.
