Ingredients

  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup diced apples
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup rolled oats
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a donut pan.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the dry ingredients: flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix the wet ingredients: melted butter, milk, eggs, and vanilla.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Fold in the diced apples.
  5. Fill each donut cavity in the pan about 3/4 full with the batter.
  6. In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar, oats, and nutmeg for the crumb topping.
  7. Sprinkle the crumb topping over the donuts before baking.
  8. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  9. Allow donuts to cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
