  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed

  • 1 cup applesauce
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar (for rolling)
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon (for rolling)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a donut pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix the granulated sugar, brown sugar, melted butter, applesauce, eggs, and vanilla until well combined.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  5. Spoon the batter into the prepared donut pan, filling each donut cavity about 3/4 full.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. While the donuts are baking, combine the sugar and cinnamon for rolling in a small bowl.
