Delicious homemade cinnamon sugar donuts that are better than what you find in a bakery.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar (for coating)
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon (for coating)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
  3. In another bowl, beat the eggs and then add the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
  4. Combine the wet and dry ingredients until just mixed.
  5. Grease a donut pan and fill each mold with the batter.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.
  7. In a small bowl, mix the sugar and cinnamon for the coating.
  8. Allow the donuts to cool slightly, then toss them in the cinnamon-sugar mixture.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, try adding nutmeg
  • Make sure not to overmix the batter to keep donuts light and fluffy.
