- 1 head cabbage
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 pound turkey bacon, chopped
- 1 cup rice, cooked
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1 jar marinara sauce
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the turkey bacon until crispy. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, sauté the onion and garlic until translucent. Stir in ground beef and cook until browned.
- Add cooked rice, turkey bacon, salt, and pepper to the beef mixture, stirring until well combined.
- Carefully remove cabbage leaves and place a spoonful of the meat mixture in the center of each leaf. Roll tightly and tuck in the sides.
- Layer the bottom of a baking dish with some marinara sauce and place cabbage rolls seam side down.
- Top with remaining marinara sauce and cover with foil.
- Bake for 45 minutes, then remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add herbs like parsley or thyme to the meat mixture.
- Can substitute pork for ground beef if desired.
