Cabbage rolls are a delicious and hearty dish made with ground beef and turkey bacon, perfect for a comforting dinner.

Ingredients

  • 1 head cabbage
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 pound turkey bacon, chopped
  • 1 cup rice, cooked
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 jar marinara sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the turkey bacon until crispy. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, sauté the onion and garlic until translucent. Stir in ground beef and cook until browned.
  4. Add cooked rice, turkey bacon, salt, and pepper to the beef mixture, stirring until well combined.
  5. Carefully remove cabbage leaves and place a spoonful of the meat mixture in the center of each leaf. Roll tightly and tuck in the sides.
  6. Layer the bottom of a baking dish with some marinara sauce and place cabbage rolls seam side down.
  7. Top with remaining marinara sauce and cover with foil.
  8. Bake for 45 minutes, then remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add herbs like parsley or thyme to the meat mixture.
  • Can substitute pork for ground beef if desired.
