Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 3 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 12 lasagna noodles
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon fresh basil, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat and add the ground beef. Cook until browned.
  3. Add garlic powder, onion powder, and basil to the skillet, stirring well.
  4. Layer the bottom of a baking dish with marinara sauce.
  5. Place a layer of lasagna noodles, followed by a layer of the beef mixture, ricotta cheese, and mozzarella cheese.
  6. Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with a layer of marinara sauce and mozzarella cheese on top.
  7. Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese over the top.
  8. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  9. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  10. Let it cool for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For a vegetarian option, replace ground beef with lentils.
  • Letting the lasagna sit before cutting helps it hold its shape.
