- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 2 cups beef broth
- 2 tablespoons ketchup
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, onion, garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Form into oval patties.
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook patties for 4-5 minutes on each side until browned. Remove and set aside.
- Add beef broth and ketchup to the skillet, stirring to combine.
- Return patties to the skillet and cover. Simmer for 15 minutes.
- In a small bowl, mix cornstarch with water to create a slurry, then stir into the skillet to thicken the sauce. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
- Serve hot with your choice of sides.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add mushrooms to the skillet while cooking the patties.
- This dish pairs well with mashed potatoes or rice.
