- 1 whole chicken, cut into pieces
- 2 cups buttermilk
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 2 cups vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
- Marinate the chicken in buttermilk for at least 4 hours or overnight in the refrigerator.
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, salt, and cayenne pepper.
- Remove the chicken from the buttermilk and dredge each piece in the flour mixture until well coated.
- Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet over medium heat.
- Fry the chicken pieces for about 15-18 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
- Drain on paper towels and let rest before serving.
Notes
- For extra crispy chicken, double dredge the marinated pieces in the flour mixture.
- Serve with your favorite dipping sauces.
