Ingredients

  • 1 package egg roll wrappers
  • 2 cups shredded cabbage
  • 1 cup shredded carrots
  • 1 pound ground pork
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • 1 quart vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine cabbage, carrots, ground pork, soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger.
  2. Lay out one egg roll wrapper with a corner facing you. Place a small amount of filling in the center.
  3. Fold the bottom corner over the filling, then fold in the sides and roll tightly.
  4. Seal the top corner with water.
  5. Heat oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C) and fry egg rolls until golden brown.
  6. Drain on paper towels and serve hot.

Notes

  • Serve with sweet and sour sauce or soy sauce for dipping.
  • For a vegetarian version, replace the pork with tofu or mushrooms.
