- 2 large onions
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 egg
- 1 cup buttermilk
- oil for frying
Instructions
- Slice onions into rings and soak them in buttermilk for at least 1 hour.
- In a separate bowl, mix flour, breadcrumbs, salt, pepper, and paprika.
- Dip each onion ring in the flour mixture, then in the egg, and back into the flour mixture.
- Heat oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry the onion rings in batches until golden brown.
- Remove and drain on paper towels.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
Notes
- For extra crunch, double coat the onion rings.
- Experiment with different seasonings in the flour mixture.
