- 1 box chocolate cake mix
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 3 large eggs
- 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup shredded coconut
- 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, water, vegetable oil, and eggs. Mix until smooth.
- Pour half of the batter into a greased baking dish.
- Layer the sliced strawberries over the batter.
- In another bowl, beat the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth. Drop spoonfuls over the strawberries.
- Sprinkle the remaining batter over the cream cheese layer.
- Top with shredded coconut and chopped nuts, if desired.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let cool before serving.
Notes
- Serve warm or at room temperature with whipped cream.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
