Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 large eggs
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup shredded coconut
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, water, vegetable oil, and eggs. Mix until smooth.
  3. Pour half of the batter into a greased baking dish.
  4. Layer the sliced strawberries over the batter.
  5. In another bowl, beat the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth. Drop spoonfuls over the strawberries.
  6. Sprinkle the remaining batter over the cream cheese layer.
  7. Top with shredded coconut and chopped nuts, if desired.
  8. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Let cool before serving.
