Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine water, butter, and salt over medium heat until the butter melts.
  2. Stir in the flour until the mixture forms a ball, then remove from heat.
  3. Allow to cool for a few minutes, then add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Heat oil in a deep fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  6. Pipe the dough into donut shapes and fry until golden brown.
  7. Remove from oil and drain on paper towels.
  8. Mix powdered sugar and cinnamon, then dust over warm crullers.
