- 1 loaf Italian bread
- 1 pound sirloin steak, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 onion, sliced
- 1 green bell pepper, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 8 ounces provolone cheese, shredded
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the onions and bell peppers and sauté until soft.
- Add the minced garlic, salt, and pepper, cooking for an additional minute.
- Add the sliced steak to the skillet and cook until browned and cooked through.
- Slice the Italian bread in half lengthwise and scoop out some of the insides.
- Fill the bread with the steak and vegetable mixture, then top with shredded provolone cheese.
- Place the stuffed bread on a baking sheet and bake for about 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Remove from the oven, let cool slightly, then slice and serve.
Notes
- Feel free to add other toppings like mushrooms or jalapeños for extra flavor.
- This dish is best served fresh but can be reheated in the oven.
