Golabki, or Polish stuffed cabbage rolls, are a delightful and hearty dish that combines tradition with easy cooking methods.

Ingredients

  • 1 large head of cabbage
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 pound turkey bacon, chopped
  • 1 cup cooked rice
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup tomato sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Boil the cabbage for about 5 minutes until the leaves are pliable.
  3. In a bowl, mix together ground beef, turkey bacon, rice, onion, garlic, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  4. Take a cabbage leaf, place a portion of the mixture inside, and roll it tightly.
  5. Place rolls seam-side down in a baking dish.
  6. Pour tomato sauce over the rolls.
  7. Bake for 1 hour covered with foil, then remove the foil and bake for another 15 minutes.

Notes

  • These rolls can be frozen for later use.
  • Serve with sour cream for extra flavor.
