Ingredients

  • 2 cups dried hibiscus flowers
  • 8 cups water
  • 1 cup sugar (or to taste)
  • 1 orange, sliced
  • 1 ginger root, peeled and sliced
  • 1 cup of pineapple juice (optional)

Instructions

  1. Rinse the dried hibiscus flowers under cold water.
  2. In a large pot, boil the water.
  3. Add the hibiscus flowers, ginger, and orange slices to the boiling water.
  4. Let it simmer for about 30 minutes.
  5. Strain the mixture into a pitcher.
  6. Add sugar and stir until dissolved. If using, add pineapple juice.
  7. Chill the Zobo drink in the refrigerator.
  8. Serve cold over ice.
