Ingredients

  • 1 pound chicken breast, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix sliced chicken with soy sauce and let it marinate for 15 minutes.
  2. Coat marinated chicken with cornstarch.
  3. In a pan, heat vegetable oil over medium heat. Add chicken and cook until golden brown.
  4. Remove chicken and add onions, garlic, and ginger to the pan. Sauté until fragrant.
  5. Add brown sugar, water, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and black pepper. Stir well.
  6. Return chicken to the pan and mix until coated in the sauce.
  7. Garnish with green onions before serving.

Notes

  • For extra spice, add red pepper flakes.
  • Serve with steamed rice or noodles.
