- 1 cup okra, sliced
- 1 cup pepper jack cheese, shredded
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- oil for frying
Instructions
- Preheat the oil in a deep fryer to 350°F (175°C).
- Stuff each okra slice with pepper jack cheese.
- Dip the stuffed okra in flour, then in egg, and finally coat with breadcrumbs.
- Fry the okra in hot oil until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes.
- Remove from oil and drain on paper towels.
- Serve hot.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add spices to the breadcrumbs.
- Make sure the oil is hot enough to avoid soggy okra.
