- 3 pounds beef roast
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons water
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 325°F (163°C).
- Season the beef roast with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- In a large skillet, sear the roast on all sides until browned.
- Transfer the roast to a roasting pan and add beef broth and Worcestershire sauce.
- Cover the pan with aluminum foil and roast in the oven for 2 to 3 hours, or until the meat is tender.
- Remove the roast from the pan and let it rest for 15 minutes before slicing.
- To make the gravy, mix cornstarch and water in a small bowl, then stir into the drippings in the pan and cook over medium heat until thickened.
- Slice the roast and serve it with the gravy.
Notes
- For extra flavor, marinate the roast overnight.
- Use a meat thermometer to check for doneness; 135°F (57°C) for medium-rare.
