- 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1 can (28 ounces) crushed tomatoes
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 cup fresh basil, chopped
- 12 ounces spaghetti
Instructions
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes, cooking for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Stir in the crushed tomatoes, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
- Add the shrimp and cook until pink and opaque, about 3-4 minutes.
- Meanwhile, cook the spaghetti according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- Toss the spaghetti with the shrimp sauce and fresh basil.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
Notes
- For an extra kick, increase the amount of red pepper flakes.
- Serve with crusty bread to soak up the sauce.
