Ingredients

  • 6 cups sliced apples
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¾ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine sliced apples, lemon juice, granulated sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Mix well.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  4. In a mixing bowl, cream together butter and brown sugar until fluffy. Add egg and vanilla extract, and mix well.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until combined.
  6. Spread the apple mixture in a greased baking dish and drop spoonfuls of the snickerdoodle dough on top.
  7. Bake for 40-45 minutes until golden brown and the apples are tender.

Notes
