- 6 cups sliced apples
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon nutmeg
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder

- ¾ cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ cup powdered sugar
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine sliced apples, lemon juice, granulated sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Mix well.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In a mixing bowl, cream together butter and brown sugar until fluffy. Add egg and vanilla extract, and mix well.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until combined.
- Spread the apple mixture in a greased baking dish and drop spoonfuls of the snickerdoodle dough on top.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes until golden brown and the apples are tender.
Notes
- Serve warm with vanilla ice cream for extra indulgence.
- Leftovers can be reheated in the oven.
