Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup warm milk
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup cream cheese, softened
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
- Add melted butter, eggs, and salt to the yeast mixture, then gradually stir in the flour until combined.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
- Punch down the dough and roll it out into a rectangle.
- Spread softened cream cheese over the dough, followed by a mixture of brown sugar and cinnamon.
- Roll up the dough tightly, slice into rolls, and place in a greased baking dish.
- Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- For extra flavor, consider adding raisins or nuts to the filling.
- Make sure the milk is warm, not hot, to activate the yeast.
- If you have leftovers, they can be reheated in the microwave.
