A classic Italian dish that combines simple ingredients for a delightful experience.

  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

Scale
  • 400 grams spaghetti
  • 6 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • Parmesan cheese for serving, optional

Instructions

  1. Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions in salted boiling water until al dente.
  2. Meanwhile, in a large pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat and add the sliced garlic.
  3. Cook until the garlic is golden and fragrant, about 2 minutes.
  4. Add the red pepper flakes and stir for an additional 30 seconds.
  5. Once the spaghetti is cooked, reserve some pasta water and drain the rest.
  6. Add the drained spaghetti to the pan with garlic oil and toss to combine.
  7. If needed, add a splash of reserved pasta water to help the sauce adhere.
  8. Stir in the chopped parsley and season with salt to taste.
  9. Serve hot with Parmesan cheese if desired.

Notes

  • For a more intense flavor, add more garlic.
  • Feel free to adjust the amount of red pepper flakes based on your heat preference.
