- 400 grams spaghetti
- 6 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- Salt to taste
- Parmesan cheese for serving, optional
Instructions
- Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions in salted boiling water until al dente.
- Meanwhile, in a large pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat and add the sliced garlic.
- Cook until the garlic is golden and fragrant, about 2 minutes.
- Add the red pepper flakes and stir for an additional 30 seconds.
- Once the spaghetti is cooked, reserve some pasta water and drain the rest.
- Add the drained spaghetti to the pan with garlic oil and toss to combine.
- If needed, add a splash of reserved pasta water to help the sauce adhere.
- Stir in the chopped parsley and season with salt to taste.
- Serve hot with Parmesan cheese if desired.
Notes
- For a more intense flavor, add more garlic.
- Feel free to adjust the amount of red pepper flakes based on your heat preference.
