- 3/4 cup granulated sugar

- 1/2 cup dark chocolate, chopped
Instructions
- In a saucepan, combine the milk, cream, and sugar over medium heat. Stir until the sugar dissolves and the mixture is heated.
- Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
- Chill the mixture in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.
- Once chilled, pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions.
- During the last few minutes of churning, gradually add the chopped dark chocolate.
- Transfer the gelato to a container and freeze for several hours before serving.
Notes
- For a creamier gelato, ensure the milk and cream are well chilled before mixing.
- You can use milk chocolate instead of dark chocolate for a sweeter flavor.
