Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs and sugar until pale and fluffy.
- Add the melted butter and vanilla extract, mixing until combined.
- In another bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add this to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk, and mix until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool for a few minutes, then turn it out onto a kitchen towel dusted with powdered sugar.
- Once cool, spread the whipped cream over the cake and arrange the sliced strawberries on top.
- Roll the cake tightly, using the towel to help shape it, and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.
Notes
- For added sweetness, sprinkle the strawberries with sugar before adding them to the cream.
- Make sure the cake is completely cool before rolling to prevent it from cracking.
