  • 5 medium apples
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 egg

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Peel and slice the apples, then toss with sugar and cinnamon.
  3. In a bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt.
  4. In another bowl, cream together butter and sugar.
  5. Add egg and vanilla to the butter mixture and mix well.
  6. Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients until a dough forms.
  7. Press half of the dough into the bottom of a greased pie pan.
  8. Layer the apple mixture on top of the dough.
  9. Crumble the remaining dough over the apples.
  10. Bake for 45-50 minutes until golden brown.
