- 5 medium apples
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup butter
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Peel and slice the apples, then toss with sugar and cinnamon.
- In a bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream together butter and sugar.
- Add egg and vanilla to the butter mixture and mix well.
- Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients until a dough forms.
- Press half of the dough into the bottom of a greased pie pan.
- Layer the apple mixture on top of the dough.
- Crumble the remaining dough over the apples.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes until golden brown.
